A column foundation work was completed for a house being built for an IT professional in Pothencode. Every level of the house, from planning to completion, is completely supervised by an engineer.
The soil was excavated according to the planned depth and width.
PCC, the first phase of the foundation, was completed by stacking the materials in proper proportions.
As per the drawing, the iron bars required for the column footing and floor mat are attached and placed on top of the PCC.
After placing the shuttering box over the steel, the column concrete was completed.
After 14 days of column concreting, bitumen coating and waterproofing was done.
After water proofing, back filling which is the process of covering the column footings with earth is completed.
The beam is concreted after backfilling and PCC. PCC is used to prevent the beams from having direct contact with the soil.
As per the engineer's instructions, the iron bar for plinth beam was mounted above PCC, and shuttering installed.
